This is a geometric planning limit you choose. A 15% crop can still remove a face or headline; shared proportions do not guarantee a shared composition.

What happened
Design 3 master compositions for 6 destinations.
Why
Destinations share a master only when every centered crop of the actual suggested pixel canvas stays within your 15% area-loss limit. Reducing the limit can create more groups; increasing it trades composition safety for reuse.
Try
Create the masters, place key content inside every destination frame, then make destination-specific typography and safe-area adjustments. Review each final output at its real viewing size.
Compare one existing master ratio
Production checklist & copyable plan
  1. Design one master per group at the suggested ratio.
  2. Check focal points and copy in all destination crop frames.
  3. Adapt type size, branding, overlays, and calls to action.
  4. Export each destination; check dimensions, file size and print bleed separately.
Master 1: 0.613:1 · 1176 × 1920 px
  Story / Reel canvas: 1080 × 1920 px, 8.2% area cropped
Pinterest standard pin: 1000 × 1500 px, 8.1% area cropped

Master 2: 0.894:1 · 1207 × 1350 px
Instagram portrait canvas: 1080 × 1350 px, 10.5% area cropped
LinkedIn portrait image ad: 720 × 900 px, 10.5% area cropped
LinkedIn square image ad: 1200 × 1200 px, 10.6% area cropped

Assumptions & format notes

Crop loss = 1 − min(master ratio ÷ target ratio, target ratio ÷ master ratio). Groups minimize the number of compatible ideal ratios; the suggested integer canvas is then verified against the same crop limit. A bounded raster search can separate an exceptionally precise group, which is called out in the result. Zero tolerance uses exact integer multiples of the destination ratio. Suggested canvas dimensions cover each target’s pixels after cropping; they do not assess image quality, bleed, or platform compression.

Understand Multi-Format Campaign Planner

What this tool helps you understand

Choose destination canvases or add custom sizes, then explore how a chosen crop-loss limit changes the master layouts your campaign needs. Compare an existing ratio, inspect retained frames, and copy a production plan with destination-specific checks.

When to use it

Use Multi-Format Campaign Planner when creator, design, and social media work raises questions about campaign format planner, master compositions, and aspect ratio groups and you need a concrete view before making the next move.

How to read the result

Use the calculated fit, spacing, timing, or risk as a planning baseline, then verify it against the physical, commercial, or technical constraints of the real project.

Assumptions and limits

The layout plan uses the selected formats, safe areas, and focal-zone assumptions. Platform templates and publishing interfaces can change, so verify the final creative in each destination.
